Halloween is just around the corner, which means it's time for horror, haunting and, creatures of the night. Speaking of Creatures, that's the title of Motionless in White's brand new album, out today! How appropriate is it that their ever-articulate bassist Ricky Horror regales his worst nightmare and answers all of our other spirited questions?

What's the scariest nightmare you've ever had?

The scariest nightmare that I can remember actually happened this year. In the dream we were backstage in the green room before a show, and I was sitting on my computer. I kept hearing these loud banging noises and I didn't know where they were coming from. Angelo runs into the room with this terrifying look on his face and asks me if I know what's going on. I'm already confused as is, but his confusion is only frightening me more. At the height of my emotions, when I felt like I couldn't be any more scared from whatever was happening, I look to the left of where I'm sitting. Standing in the window is a man. A man with hollowed eye-sockets and a black hole where his mouth and lower jaw should be. I immediately hear this high pitched tone that hurts my ears and renders me paralyzed. I woke up after that. It's not much, and dreams don't usually weird me out, but for some reason that one stuck with me. I think ill always remember the image of that man, or thing, in the window.

If you could cast a spell on someone for a night who and WHAT would you do?

That's tough. I'd probably put a spell on myself for two reasons. One would be to stop myself from thinking, just to see how peaceful it would be. That, or I'd turn myself invisible so I could go see what really is in Area 51.

What's the lamest costume you ever wore as a kid?

The absolute worst costume I ever wore was a last minute bad idea. It was really just a more extravagent me. A bunch more makeup, more accessories and a sweet peacoat. I didn't think it was too bad until someone asked me if I was Criss Angel. Totally ruined my night.

Whose ghost would you actually dig being haunted by?
Bela Lugosi, or Vincent Price.

What do you consider to be the most frightening creature/animal?

I absolutely can not stand spiders, or other equally creepy crawlers. They are very exquisite creatures, and I can appreciate them and their place in the world. But if one crawls on me, or near me, I'll scream like a five year old girl.

What song would you play if you wanted to put yourself in a "haunted" mood?

Usually it would be an older AFI song, or a song from Calabrese since all their songs are about Halloween for the most part. But since I've been stuck on this cd for a few days now, I'm going to say Psyclon Nine's "Parasitic". It's not very halloween-esque, but the entire mood of their music is so dark, dirty and grimy that it just fits. I feel like I need to take a shower after listening to them.

What candy would you need in your bag to make it feel like a successful trick or treating sesh?

When I was younger, the answer to that wouldve been any type of candy bar that was full size and not the regular minis that people usually give out. I haven't been trick-or-treating in a couple years, but I cherish Halloween so much in itself that just experiencing anything on that day would make it wonderful.

Would you spend the night in a supposedly haunted house?

I've always wanted to. A lot of places that are the "most" haunted always seem to be closed to the general public, and I'd rather not get arrested for the sake of a cheap thrill. The band stayed at a haunted hotel in New Jersey before I was in the picture. I'm bummed I couldn't be there to experience it!

Scariest moment you've ever had onstage?

It wasn't really scary, but the worst thing that's ever happened to me personally on stage was at a show we played in Texas, I believe. I can't remember what venue. During our set, I stepped back off the monitor and right into a hole in the stage. I spent the next minute or so playing and trying to pull my now stuck leg out of this hole that was smaller than my knee. It bruised and scraped up my leg pretty bad. I still wish that someone would've gotten it on tape so I could see the look on my face right before I drop into the hole.

How would you survive the zombie apocalypse?

By not going to a mall, to start. There's this building off of the freeway back home where my friend Jimmy and I always said we would meet if something like that happened. It overlooks the city, and the entire floor level is raised up as a parking garage. It just seemed like a perfect place. Although, now that I live across the country with Angelo, I think he, Chris and I would all meet up and barricade ourselves in somewhere.
